Modern Architecture in Hawaii
The Historic Hawai‘i Foundation has compiled a list of buildings that represent the advocacy of modern architecture in Honolulu. From the East/West Center on the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa campus to the Hawai‘i State Capitol, the HHF has highlighted strong examples of Hawaii’s ability to operate beyond the typical taste and style prone to our neighborhoods and city centers. Honolulu has played host to many internationally renown modern architects whose work can be found throughout every district. The list stands as a reminder of how Hawai‘i can remain progressive and forward-thinking regardless of location and materials.
